The KBB Music Festival is a celebration of music, performed by some of New Zealand's finest young musicians. The festival attracts talented students from more than 50 schools across the Auckland region performing in secondary school orchestras, concert bands, jazz bands and chamber orchestras.

About the event
The KBB Music Festival is a celebration of music, performed by some of New Zealand's finest young musicians. The festival attracts talented students from more than 50 schools across the greater Auckland region performing in secondary school orchestras, concert bands, jazz bands and chamber orchestras. Since it's inception in 1983 the KBB Music Festival has continued to grow to the point where its 40th festival saw over 4,500 students in 145 groups taking part. The festival is a wonderful coming together of students and teachers to share the results of countless hours of personal practice and group rehearsal. Every performance showcases the skills music demands of its players: hard work, cooperation, perseverance, empathy, understanding and more.
The Adjudicated sessions take place from Monday - Friday. There are three session each day - Morning, Afternoon and Evening.
