— ACTING CATHEDRAL PRECENTOR
The Reverend Frank Nelson

A self-confessed Cathedral ‘junkie’, Frank has had the great privilege of ministering in Cathedrals in South Africa, Hong Kong, Aotearoa New Zealand and South Australia (as Dean of two of them), as well as in parish and university settings. Frank and his wife, Christine, retired to the Hibiscus Coast earlier this year and have been worshipping at Holy Trinity Cathedral in recent months. Benedictine Spirituality, with its search for balance in life, and EfM (Education for Ministry) have been a big influence on Frank's journey into Christ. Frank is grateful to Dean Anne and the Holy Trinity Cathedral community for giving him the opportunity to spend the next few months helping out on the Cathedral team, and he is looking forward to getting to know many of the wonderful people here. Frank expects to be in and around the Cathedral Office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and will take his place on the preaching and liturgy team at Sunday services.

We are guided by the following five-fold mission of the Anglican Communion:

-
To proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God
-
To teach, baptize and nurture new believers
-
To respond to human need by loving service
-
To seek to transform the unjust structures of society
-
To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and to sustain and renew the life of the earth.

This definition of the mission of the Church is also enshrined in the Constitution of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia.

With this in mind, we have developed five-year Strategic Directions to better enable us to live out this mission which we are called to fulfill.
