FROM THE PRIESTS IN CHARGE
Heraclitus of Ephesus, Greek philosopher from the 5th Century BCE, is credited with the familiar maxim that ‘the only constant is change’. The Cathedral has experienced so much change through the years of the Selwyn Vision project; and this week will be no exception, as a new Dean is installed on Thursday, and we welcome the Mills family – Anne and Chris, Emma and Kate – into our midst.
For us, it will be the end of another phase of ‘retired’ ministry. During the past six months, we have been blessed to have Ivica Gregurec as our clergy colleague (just 4 weeks ahead of us in knowledge of how HTC works!) and a great team to work with in the Cathedral office. It has been a delight to witness the installation and dedication of the Nicholson organ and the restoration of the St Mary’s organ; and to learn so much about the distinctive ministry and mission which a cathedral’s generous space can offer through music and liturgy, welcome and hospitality.
We are grateful for this opportunity to get to know many of you better and, after a judicious absence, we will continue to consider ourselves part of this community of faith. Thank you for your support and encouragement during our time ‘up front’.
May you know the constancy of God’s grace through the exciting changes ahead.

Jammies in June
Last chance to help us reach our 2017 target of 150. We need about 50 more! So, bring new jammies to the office during the week or place them in the basket at the back of the Cathedral. The basket will be out next week too. Please show your support if you haven’t already. Thank you to those who have already responded!
Music Department
As we approach the end of Term II the choir and choristers prepare to take a very well-earned break. The last service of term with the full choir will be evensong on Sunday 9th July (the choristers finish on Thursday 6th July). There will be a Sung Eucharist with cantor at 10am on Sunday 16th July, and we are delighted that the St Mary’s Singers will lead both 10 am Eucharist and 5 pm Choral Evensong on Sunday 23rd July. Many thanks to them for providing this continuity to our worship. The choirs return to sing services again from Sunday 30th July.
