About the Event
It is always sad when someone dies, but the death of a baby is especially tragic because it comes when a new life was expected.
Baby Loss Awareness Week is a dedicated week for bereaved parents and whānau to talk about the lives and deaths of their babies, no matter their gestation, length of life or how they died. This special week culminates in The Global Wave of Light.
We in Aotearoa-New Zealand have the privilege of beginning the wave and we would like to invite bereaved parents, whānau and friends to light a candle at 7pm on the 15 October in memory of their baby. Leave your candle burning for an hour (if safe to do so) in order that the wave of light rolls through each time zone around the world in a ‘global wave’.
Please remember to take a photo of your candle and send it to office@holy-trinity.org.nz so that we can include it on our virtual offering.
Holy Trinity Cathedral will also be illuminated as part of this international celebration.
