Welcome to the Holy Trinity Cathedral

Auckland Cathedral of the Holy Trinity is a place of worship, choral music, art, architecture, learning and history. Cathedrals are not merely museums; they are living spaces and the Cathedral is a spiritual centre and focus for the Anglican churches of the Auckland Diocese as well as the city. The Cathedral is also used regularly as a venue for music and cultural performances. The Cathedral Precinct, situated in Parnell, consists of Holy Trinity Cathedral as well as St Mary’s, the former Cathedral Church.

At the heart of the activity of the Cathedral there is the revelation of God with a rhythm of daily worship and prayer. The choirs of the Cathedral lead worship on Sundays as well as Wednesday Evensong and alongside this style of worship there are programmes for families and children. People also choose to come to the Cathedral for baptism, weddings and funerals and there are community events including Mainly Music. Tourists are welcome to visit the Cathedral buildings on a daily basis.

The Cathedral Council has developed a policy in respone to the H1N1 pandemic threat to contribute to community strategies to contain its spread, For full details please click on this link

Memorial Garden

Preparatory landscaping for the new memorial garden being developed around St Mary's is complete with grass laid in preparation for planting. At the sanctuary end of St Mary’s several columbaria will be erected for the placement of ashes. Later stages of the work will include a contemplation pool and a labyrinth. This first stage of the work is being supported through funds made available from the Trinity Garden Festival. The contractor is “Natural Habitats” and the landscape architect is Jacky Bowring of Christchurch.
