Event Information

Holy Trinity Cathedral successfully performs a multiplicity of roles founded in the tradition of old Cathedrals, serving as Parish church, mother church of the Auckland Diocese, and a leading civic, community, music, cultural, drama and arts facility.

As an Event Centre, the Cathedral hosts many concerts for both orchestras and choirs, along with conferences, lectures, art exhibitions, and chamber music. Stage risers are available along with acoustic screens.

In its normal seating mode, 770 seats are available and in extended stage mode, 1100 seats are available. The seats are divided into 8 blocks.

Located next to the front courtyard, the Bishop Monteith Visitors’ Centre is the main front of house foyer to the main auditorium. Suitable for pre or post functions it can be set up with trestle tables and has a kitchen for refreshments.

Parking
The cathedral has a Pay & Display car park which is metered by the hour. Access to this car park is from Brighton Road and Parnell Road.

Disabled Car Parking
There are two disabled car parks directly behind St Mary’s in the general car park and another two directly in front. There are also more parks in the Patteson Entrance area located off Parnell Road.

Undercroft
Although fitted for storage, the Undercroft may be suitable as a dressing room especially for larger choirs or orchestras. The Undercroft may also be suitable for warm-up/rehearsal area. There is a kitchen including an oven, dishwasher, sink and instant hot water available for use.

Oaks Conference Room
On the same level as the Undercroft, the Oaks Conference Room seats a maximum of 80. Bathroom facilities are easily accessible and being on the lower level it is accessible to the auditorium by four stairwells in each corner of the building and accessible to the stage area via two of these.

Bocock Conference Room
On the same level as the Undercroft, the Bocock Room seats a maximum of 50. Bathroom facilities are easily accessible and being on the lower level it is accessible to the auditorium by four stairwells in each corner of the building and accessible to the stage area via two of these.

Piano
There is a 9 foot Kawai EX grand piano available for use.
