The Diocese has an established pandemic policy which has been reactivated in response to the current swine flu threat. The main area of concern is contact through the Communion chalice. No change in practice is planned at this stage unless advice to the contrary is received from health authorities. Please note however that you are not obliged to take the chalice and that you receive full Communion if you prefer to eat the bread only. We suggest you take hold of the chalice while the words are spoken to you, and then hand it back without drinking from it.
