The Cathedral is echoing to the sounds of carols with the season of Advent and as primary and secondary schools from across Auckland have their carols services in Holy Trinity. The Cathedral Advent Carol Service brought colours of purple and blue to the nave and chancel of Holy Trinity Cathedral. The Procession moved symbolically from the liturgical West to East, towards the brightness of sunrise, echoing the theme of Advent, to draw closer to the light. Advent focuses on the birth of Jesus Christ and his second coming in glory. The Diocesan School for Girls Carol Service used biblical readings and carols to tell the Christian story from creation to the birth of Jesus.
