Bishop Sir Paul Reeves was farewelled at a State Funeral Service at Holy Trinity Cathedral on Thursday 19th August. Sir Paul’s whanau, Te Atiawa Iwi, the New Zealand Government, Military, and the Anglican Church joined together in a celebration of a life lived in service of God and humanity. In his Homily, Bishop Philip Richardson reminded us that Bishop Paul “sought to stand astride fault lines in our communities and encourage dialogue”, seeking justice and peace in a life shaped and nurtured by his Parihaka heritage and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
