Important information about Health and Safety
The Cathedral will not be open for tourism and all public services of worship are suspended until further notice.
Following the announcement of the NZ Prime Minister on Monday 23 March, as well as the guidance of our bishop, Ross Bay, Holy Trinity Cathedral is closed to all in preparation for a nationwide Level 4 lock down on Wednesday 25 March.
We, as a cathedral, are in the process of planning alternative ways that we can reach each other during this period of self-isolation. Please continue checking in with us on all of our online platforms.
Protect our Communities
The spread of the coronavirus COVID-19 is of global concern but New Zealand has a robust public health emergency plan in place and there is no cause for panic.
We encourage everyone to be vigilant in abiding by the rules of the Level 4 lock down which include self-isolation within households in order to protect ourselves and our communities from the worst - an uncontrolled viral spreading and loss of life which we are seeing manifest in many other world nations.
The Prime Minister also urged us all to ensure we shop for food normally during this time. This is crucial to maintain a sense of community while community is not possible and to safeguard the most vulnerable in our societies.
Let us take extra measures to be safe, be kind and look after each other during this time of uncertainty.
