The Computer Page Essential programmes that are FREE.
There are many churches and church people unable to afford the high cost of commercial packages, which are now generally too complex, and more suitable to business than to private use. There are also people who can afford the mainstream packages, but cannot justify the high cost for a comparatively low level of use.
We list here essential software applications which are easy to install and known to do a good job. The links take you directly to the correct pages. Furthermore, they're all FREE, though you are encouraged to upgrade to paid versions wherever and whenever possible. You may not get all the bells and whistles with these packages, but you get more than enough to do what most people need.
As we have no control over your computer environment, computer setup or usage, we take no responsibility for your decision to use these programmes. You must read the terms and conditions supplied with each programme, and take note of any warnings or conditions which are applicable to your particular situation.
Ensure that you know the basic specifications of your computer before you download and install any programmes, especially the operating system (Windows 98, 98SE, ME, XP, etc.). If you do not know how to download or install new programmes, ask somebody.
