Thank you to our Benefactors
No church could afford to buy the many precious and beautiful objects with which we have been blessed. All of the stained glass windows, antique and sometimes historic altar plate, candlesticks, processional crosses, decorative furniture,
old books and tapa cloths which we own have been donated, or bought only because legacies and donations were given for named purposes.
The building of the Cathedral nave was possible because of benefactors. Architects Dick Toy designed, and with Edward Lawry provided initial working drawings. In addition to cash donations, individuals and businesses provided quantity surveying, vast quantities of materials and much of the construction labour at absolutely no cost.
We give our sincere thanks for the kindness and generosity of all who have made these gifts: we give thanks for the
enjoyment which we receive from them today; we give thanks for the enjoyment and fascination which we believe our children, and their children, will experience from having them in their care and use.
