A Church Wedding
Your wedding is one of the most important and memorable events that you will have in your lifetime. Celebrating this ancient rite in a church, with its tradition, colour, depth and symbolism adds extra dimension to a wedding, and makes church ceremonies the choice of most couples.
Aside from the romanticism of a traditional wedding ceremony there is greater meaning and impact to commitments and vows made in church, where most originated. Declaring our love before God, making vows to each other in the presence of our relatives and friends, and receiving the blessings of God and our friends on the union remain unique to the church ceremony.
What We Can Offer
The sacrament of matrimony has been available as a christian service for almost two millennia. We have the understanding, the tradition, and a choice of moving and meaningful ceremonies. Situated close to the heart of Auckland City we have three beautiful churches, including two of the most picturesque, romantic and sought-after in New Zealand: St Stephen's Chapel (1847) and St Mary's Church (1888), both Category 1 historic buildings.
We have music, staff and facilities to help make your wedding day the most joyful day of your life.
Wedding Settings
Within our three churches are five different spaces suitable for weddings. Subject to prior bookings, you may choose the perfect venue for the style of wedding you desire to have.
Each church is enhanced with well-maintained gardens, richly green lawns, and oak trees more than 160 years old. Photographs taken in the grounds - even those by the distant relative with an instant camera - will look special.

Wedding Venues
If dark natural native timbers and the soft ambience of a historic wood-lined church is your ideal, tiny Saint Stephen's Chapel, or St Mary's Church will appeal.
Holy Trinity Cathedral offers three settings of more modern style, in the Gothic Chancel, the Pacific style Nave, and the intimately beautiful Marsden Chapel.
