Charter for Children in the Church

"Children are equal partners with adults in the life of the church."

Baptism

Baptism is one of the two Sacraments ordained by Jesus Christ, the other being Holy Communion. Baptism of children and adults is offered at the Cathedral.

Confirmation

Confirmation is available for children and adults. Courses are offered from time to time, followed by Confirmation and first Communion at a special Eucharist service.


Kathedral Kids

The childrens' programme runs each Sunday of the school term during Cathedral Eucharist. The children leave the service after the Collect and return after the Agnus Dei.

Children and Holy Communion

Children who are baptised and who already take Communion may receive the sacrament at the Cathedral. Other baptised children may take Communion, but parents are asked to first discuss it with the Dean.
