Bishop Monteith Tuition Scholarships (Vocal)
The Cathedral Music Foundation established these scholarships in 2001
in honour of Bishop Rae Monteith, a former Dean of the Cathedral and
Assistant Bishop of Auckland, whose vision established the musical tradition which exists today. The scholarships are offered to choir members who would benefit from additional voice training.
Peter Godfrey Choral Conducting Scholarship
This scholarship was established to recognise the enormous
contribution made by Professor Peter Godfrey to the establishment of music in the Cathedral. The Scholar is responsible for directing the Cathedral Choristars - the Cathedral's Junior Choir - in association with the Director of Music.
Applications
Applications for scholarships, made to the Director of Music, close in mid-December of each year, though late applications may be considered in February.
Applicants should include a brief outline of musical interests
and skills. While holders may be male or female, preference
is given to applicants between 17 and 27 years of age.
